Trevor, these are probably compulsive rituals, and if the problem meets other criteria and is severe enough it's possible this client has OCD rather than a primary diagnosis of sleep disorder. Primary insomnia is one of the simplest problems to treat with success in clinical trials of standard CBT packages around 70-80% - which is extremely high.
